The route from Pinellas Park

Starting in central Pinellas Park, the route we measured runs north on 49th Street, east along 118th Avenue North, then joins I-275 for the crossing of Old Tampa Bay. After the Howard Frankland Bridge it exits to Dale Mabry Highway for the last eight miles north.

That is about 24 miles in total. It is a straightforward drive, but its timing depends almost entirely on the bridge, so give your driver room in the schedule.

Local numbers on depression and distress

For Pinellas Park, CDC PLACES estimates that 21.2 in every 100 adults have ever been told they have a depressive disorder, slightly above the countywide 20.9. Its estimate for frequent mental distress, 19.0 in every 100 adults, is among the highest of the Pinellas communities we list.

Frequent mental distress means reporting poor mental health on 14 or more of the last 30 days. When that becomes the normal state of things, it is worth talking with a clinician about whether your current treatment is doing enough.

Arranging rides for a whole course

Ketamine therapy usually involves a series of sessions over several weeks, and every one of them ends with someone else driving you home. From Pinellas Park, that means at least two bridge crossings per visit for your driver.

Settling the plan early helps: who drives on which day, whether they wait or return, and what happens if they cannot make it. If arranging rides is a real obstacle, tell us during the consultation so we can think it through with you.

Telehealth before treatment, and between sessions

Your consultation, any planning calls, and check-ins between sessions are all things you can do from home on telehealth, as long as you are in Florida. That keeps bridge trips to the visits where you need to be in the room.

Treatment itself is always in person. The medicine is given as a small injection under the skin, a clinician monitors you throughout, and it is never prescribed for you to take at home.

Support in Pinellas County

Between visits, Pinellas Park residents can dial 211 for free help finding local health and human services. Anyone can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, day or night, and any emergency is a 911 call.

How should we reach you?
Best time to reach you (optional)

In person or by telehealth

You can be seen both ways. Consultations, planning conversations, and follow-up visits happen in person at our Tampa clinic or by telehealth — whichever works better for you.

Ketamine itself is always administered in person, at the clinic, with a clinician monitoring you throughout. We do not prescribe ketamine for use at home.

Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.

How telehealth works here

  • Telehealth is available to patients who are physically located in Florida, and the clinicians providing that care hold active Florida licenses.
  • Your location is confirmed at the start of every telehealth visit. If you are not in Florida, the visit does not go ahead.
  • Ketamine is never prescribed for you to take at home. It is administered only at our clinic, in person, with a clinician monitoring you throughout — a telehealth visit does not change that.
  • You are seen in person before any treatment session, because every session happens at the clinic.
  • A telehealth visit never guarantees that treatment will be offered, any more than an in-person evaluation does.
  • Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, call or text 988, or call 911.
