Road distance and route from OpenStreetMap routing, without traffic. Health figures are CDC PLACES model-based, age-adjusted estimates for adults (2023 survey data, 2025 release). They describe the community, not our patients.
From the South Shore to north Tampa
Apollo Beach sits on the southeastern shore of Tampa Bay, and our clinic is on the far side of the city, north of downtown. The route we measured runs about ten miles up US 41, continues on 50th Street, crosses to I-275 on the I-4/Selmon Expressway Connector, then exits for Fletcher Avenue.
The connector is a toll road, so your driver will want a SunPass or similar transponder, or to accept toll-by-plate billing. Alternatives without tolls exist but usually take longer through city streets.
Apollo Beach health estimates
CDC PLACES estimates that 17.3 in every 100 adults in Apollo Beach have ever been told they have a depressive disorder, a little higher than Hillsborough County's 16.7. The estimated share of adults with frequent mental distress is 15.9 in every 100.
These are statistical estimates for the whole community, drawn from a national survey. They are included to give local context, not to suggest anything about an individual's health or likely response to treatment.
Planning the day around the drive
Between the drive across town and roughly 90 minutes to two hours at the clinic, a session from Apollo Beach is a half-day commitment for you and for whoever drives you. After the visit you should rest and not drive until the following day.
Some patients pair the trip with a driver who works or has errands in Tampa, which turns two long round trips into one. Others choose a relative who can stay for the whole visit. Whatever the arrangement, settle the ride plan for each session in advance, because we cannot release you from the clinic without a responsible adult to take you home.
Telehealth for everything that can be remote
Your first consultation, the planning conversation, and check-ins between sessions can all take place by telehealth while you are physically located in Florida. That spares you a cross-town round trip just to talk.
Treatment itself is never remote. The medicine is given as a small injection under the skin at the clinic, with a clinician monitoring you until you are ready to leave, and it is never prescribed for use at home.
Help on the South Shore between sessions
Our team is reachable during clinic hours. Outside them, Apollo Beach residents can dial 211 for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, which Hillsborough County describes as available day and night, or use the 988 Lifeline by phone or text.
Any situation where you or someone else is in danger is a 911 call.
Request a consultation
A conversation, not a commitment. Please don't include medical records, diagnosis details, or anything urgent — this form is not monitored for emergencies.
In person or by telehealth
You can be seen both ways. Consultations, planning conversations, and follow-up visits happen in person at our Tampa clinic or by telehealth — whichever works better for you.
Ketamine itself is always administered in person, at the clinic, with a clinician monitoring you throughout. We do not prescribe ketamine for use at home.
Telehealth visits require you to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit.
How telehealth works here
- Telehealth is available to patients who are physically located in Florida, and the clinicians providing that care hold active Florida licenses.
- Your location is confirmed at the start of every telehealth visit. If you are not in Florida, the visit does not go ahead.
- Ketamine is never prescribed for you to take at home. It is administered only at our clinic, in person, with a clinician monitoring you throughout — a telehealth visit does not change that.
- You are seen in person before any treatment session, because every session happens at the clinic.
- A telehealth visit never guarantees that treatment will be offered, any more than an in-person evaluation does.
- Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, call or text 988, or call 911.
Common questions
On the fastest route we measured, yes: the I-4/Selmon Expressway Connector is tolled. The rest of that route, along US 41, 50th Street, I-275 and Fletcher Avenue, is toll-free. Toll-free alternatives through city streets exist but usually take longer.
No. Our only clinic is at 3971 Moran Rd Ste 101-2, Tampa, FL 33618, about 28 road miles from Apollo Beach. Telehealth consultations and follow-ups can be done from home while you are in Florida.
A responsible adult you arrange in advance, such as a partner, relative, or friend. You will not be able to drive yourself, and you should not drive again until the next day. Talk to us before your first session if arranging rides is difficult.
